Richard D. Wise is a Nature Photographer based in
Northeastern Ohio. He has been in the photographic business for 40 years
in one form or another. He was a Navy Photographer in Viet Nam. He
served as an aerial photographer in the Pacific and in Washington, D.C.
Richard photographed former President Nixon’s inaugural and other
political events in the Washington, D.C. area. He worked as a
photographic technician for NASA in Greenbelt, Maryland. He has worked
at numerous studios, producing images for advertising, model’s
portfolios, weddings, and portraits.
At times, looking for refuge from the pressures of everyday commercial
work, Richard would step lightly into the quiet world of Photo Art.
Working with still lifes and nudes, he found relief from the routine of
commercial work. Although he enjoyed his work, Richard was searching for
photographic satisfaction on a higher level. Because of his lifelong
outdoor background, he gravitated to the world of Nature Photography.
Richard’s photographs have been published in magazines, calendars, and
have earned high honors in regional photography competitions. He sells
his nature images through a growing “personal client list” and through
local galleries.
He takes several photographic trips a year to various locations in the
United States. With each photographic journey, he gains a deeper
appreciation of our responsibility as “Nature’s Caretakers,” as
America’s “Natural World” is fragile and in danger.
He hopes that his images give pleasure to those who view them, but also
hopes that his images encourage an increased appreciation of nature. |
